Dr. Kadom Shubber

Kadom Shubber specializes in finance, investment, international business, Islamic banking/finance, and general management, with a rich and varied experience stretching over a period of five decades, both in the UK and his native country (Iraq), spanning academia, publishing and the voluntary sector. 
Having obtained an honors degree in Economics from London University in 1966, Dr. Shubber procured a Diploma in Management Studies at Salford University (1967), then a Master’s in Administrative Sciences (1968) from the City University (London), and finally a doctorate from the Loughborough University of Technology in 1984-5.
Over the past 40 years, Dr. Shubber has been lecturing at several British universities, and his last full-time position was a principal lecturer at Westminster Business School, where he had been managing a popular Master’s program in International Finance, as well as leading the module of “Modern Finance” on the Master level. 
Apart from wide-ranging university teaching-cum-research and writings in his areas of expertise, Dr. Shubber had led a variety of executive training seminars in pertinent areas, including workings of financial markets, investment strategies, budgeting, production/operations management, financial market derivatives, raising new external finance, dividend policy, and financial planning.  In addition, he has written five academic books in Arabic and translated-cum-edited a major classical work on Islamic Economics from Arabic to English, supervised a significant number of postgraduate theses (including some at the doctoral level), and conducted numerous business consultancy assignments.
Dr. Shubber is a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy, as well as the UK-based Association of International Accountants. In addition, he is a long-standing member of the Chartered Institute of Management in Britain. In 2008, he was the launch editor-in-chief of the peer-reviewed International Journal of Islamic and Middle Eastern Finance and Management. He continued in this role until stepping down in 2012.
